Optical glass is designed to many different specifications and indexes which are used in the design of optical components, mainly lenses

Optical lenses are transparent components made from optical quality materials and curved to converge or diverge transmitted rays from an object. These rays then form a real or virtual image of the object.

There are many types of optical lenses. Achromats or achromatic lenses , Aspheric lenses, Ball lenses , Cylindrical lenses, Fresnel lenses,Filter lens,Quartz lens,Sapphire lens,Plano lens, Plano convex lens, Plano concave lens,Bi concave lens,Bi convex lens, Meniscus lens, Spheric lens,Glass Ball lens, Flat lens, Round lens, Magnifier lens,Microscope lens

Borosilicate glass is a very commonly used glass type and offers superior durability, chemical, and heat resistance, which make it suitable for use in chemical processes, in the pharmaceutical industry, in high-powered lamps, for cookware and other heat-resistant products.

Even for a longer period of time and at temperatures above 100 degree it exceeds the chemical inertness of most metals and other materials.

Special main properties:

High thermal shock and high pressure resistance

Low thermal coefficient of expansion

Alkali and Acid Resistance

Sola dime glass is the most common commercial glass and less expensive. The composition of soda-lime glass is normally 60-75% silica, 12-18% soda, and 5-12% lime. Soda-lime glass is primarily used for bottles, jars, everyday drinking glasses, and window glass. A low percentage of other materials can be added for specific properties such as coloring.

Soda-lime glass is resistant neither to high temperatures nor sudden thermal changes, nor to corrosive chemicals.

Clear Float glass is produced by floating a continuous stream of molten glass onto a bath of molten tin. The molten glass spreads onto the surface of the metal and produces a high quality, consistently level sheet of glass that is later heat polished. The glass has no wave or distortion and is now the standard method for glass production and over 90% of the world production of flat glass is float glass.

The Float Glass has wide applications in people's life, it could be toughened, tempered, laminated to improve strenghth and safty quality. the actual products include Windows in Building and Auto, Windscreens, Lenses in electrical apparatus, Lighting accessories, Glass Furniture...
